There's loads to keep you busy on our holiday parks this half term, but if you do feel like venturing a little further then you’ll also be perfectly positioned for exploring some awesome local attractions!
Here’s our top pick of attractions that are perfect for some February half term fun.
HAMPSHIRE & DORSET ATTRACTIONS
Paultons Park – Get half term off to a great start at Paultons Park theme park which is re-opening on 19th February after its winter closing. Includes thrilling rides, themed worlds such as Peppa Pig World and Critter Creek and daily character shows.
Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre – Snowtrax is the perfect day out come rain or shine, with activities that both the adults and children will enjoy. Choose from skiing, snowboarding, ringos and ski bob, then after all that hard work, chill out in the Alpine Bistro!
CORNWALL ATTRACTIONS
Carnglaze Caverns – Go deep below the ground and into the hillside of the Loveny Valley where you can learn all about Cornwall’s only slate mine and the people that worked there. An adventurous indoor attraction that the whole family can enjoy.
Bodmin Jail – Discover the darker side of Cornwall at Bodmin Jail! With a history dating back to the 1700s, this day out is for historians and thrill-seekers alike.
GLOUCESTERSHIRE ATTRACTIONS
Cotswold Wildlife Park – Even the rain won’t dampen your spirits when you visit the wildlife park (but let’s hope for blue skies even so)! From the smallest reptiles and amphibians to towering giraffes and the Asiatic lion, there’s something for everyone with over 160 acres to explore.
Cotswold Motoring & Toy Museum – Explore the history of motoring with vintage-car collections and memorabilia dating all the way back to the twenties and the museum’s biggest attraction, TV supercar, Brum who famously started and ended each episode at the museum. With several showrooms covering a massive 7500ft², the Motoring Museum makes a superb family day out, come rain or shine.
SOMERSET ATTRACTIONS
Tropiquaria – Where land and sea meet! Marvel at the many weird and wonderful freshwater and marine species of fish, then head upstairs to the nocturnal house where you’ll find some of the world’s smallest primates including the Grey Mouse Lemur and Hedgehog Tenrec. Did you know? The Tenrec is more closely related to the elephant family than our native hedgehogs! Discover this and much more during your visit.
The Museum of Somerset – Learn all about the area surrounding you when you visit the Museum of Somerset and see the county with brand new eyes. With artefacts dating back to Roman times, all the way to the present day. The museum is also running several creative workshops during half term in celebration of their current Brian Rice art exhibition.
DEVON ATTRACTIONS
Kents Cavern – Step into the stone age when humans sheltered from extreme weather, made fires and shaped tools to hunt ice age animals at Kents Cavern. Throughout half term there’ll also be activities on offer including an ice age animal hunt, shelter building and Victorian explorers’ workshop.
Paignton Zoo – With over 2,000 animals and 80 acres, there’s plenty to explore at Paignton Zoo! See everything from the Cuban crocodile to the cotton-top tamarin. A full day of fun for the whole family that's guaranteed to wear the children out!
