Packing essentials for your autumn getaway

Autumn. The season where we say so long to sandals and embrace knitted socks and cosy sweaters! But with glorious golden skies one moment, and torrential rain the next, it can be tricky to navigate – especially when you’re on holiday!

Here are our 5 packing essentials to ensure you’ve got everything you need for your autumn getaway…

1. A LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET

It may seem chilly after a particularly sunny September, but trust us, there is no need to pull out the puffer jacket yet! When you’re out and about exploring on foot, you’ll soon work up a sweat, and a lightweight wax jacket or raincoat will surely suffice! Easily folded, or worn around the waist, it’ll ensure you’re shielded from any sudden showers, and save you space when packing (or carrying it after a particularly strenuous stomp)!

2. SUNGLASSES - Yes, really!

Now we’re not suggesting you take on the November showers in your shades, but there’s merit in having your sunnies tucked in your bag, just in case! You never know when we’re going to be blessed with a beautiful autumn day and whether you’re behind the wheel or taking in some of the stunning scenery in and around our holiday parks, you’ll be kicking yourself if you’ve forgotten them!

From walking boots, to wellies, or even those trusty old Chelsea boots, a pair of cosy boots is an autumn essential! Whether you’re puddle-hopping around the lakes, walking through ancient woodland, or braving the beach, having a pair of boots to hand will prepare you for all weather and terrain!

5. FAMILY FILMS & BOARDGAMES

Picture this: after a long day of enjoying local attractions, you return to your accommodation, draw the curtains, find a spot next to the fire, and enjoy a wholesome afternoon of family fun! Whether it’s a movie marathon, or you heat things up a bit with some healthy competition, our on-park shops are stocked with your favourite drinks and snacks, so all you need to remember is your favourite DVDs or boardgames!
